Modula Flexibox is the vertical automated storage system developed by Modula for intensive picking, order fulfillment, and intelligent bin management in industrial and logistics warehouses. Designed to increase speed, accuracy, and productivity, the system optimizes order preparation workflows by automating bin retrieval and reducing operational cycle times.
Flexibox can process up to 180 bins per hour, supporting hundreds of order lines simultaneously. Based on the goods-to-person principle, bins containing the requested items are automatically delivered to the operator bay — eliminating unnecessary travel and improving picking efficiency.
Each tray can be further divided into multiple internal compartments using dedicated separators, creating several dedicated slots within the same load unit. In this way, a single bin does not simply function as one container, but becomes an organized multi-slot system — each slot designed to hold different materials in an orderly and rational manner. This configuration increases storage flexibility, maximizes the use of available space, and enables the management of multiple SKUs within the same tray — improving product accessibility, organization, and inventory control.
The integrated WMS software intelligently manages bin flow, enabling simultaneous multi-bin picking and accelerating order fulfillment, kitting, and order preparation operations. This approach improves accuracy, operational continuity, and logistics flow management in high-throughput environments.
Modula Flexibox is ideal for e-commerce, supply chain automation, production and spare parts departments, spare parts logistics, and dynamic distribution centers requiring high productivity and rapid order fulfillment. Fully integrable with WMS software, ERP systems, and Industry 4.0 technologies, the system ensures real-time movement monitoring and operational performance optimization.

A further advantage of the system is its ability to handle urgent single-item requests on a priority basis, bypassing the standard mission queue. This means that if an unplanned need arises, the operator does not have to wait for the entire pre-scheduled picking flow to complete — the required item can be retrieved immediately.
Additionally, the system is capable of operating autonomously overnight in smart order preparation mode — pre-staging bins and positioning all load units needed for the following day's manual activities at the front levels closest to the operator bay. This makes day-shift operations smoother, reduces wait times, and maximizes overall system productivity.
