Tube and bar cutting and machining systems

The RSP 80-350 is a modular automated line designed to integrate cutting and multiple machining operations into a single production cycle. The indexing rotary table is the core of the system: it transfers the component between the different stations and allows multiple operations to be performed simultaneously, reducing handling time and increasing overall productivity.
The machine is designed for medium-to-high and high-volume production and can be configured according to the material, component geometry, required machining operations, and desired level of automation.

Rotary table and simultaneous machining
The indexing rotary table, equipped with a Hirth coupling, ensures precise and repeatable component positioning at the different stations. During each stage of the cycle, multiple units can operate simultaneously on different components; with each table index, the parts advance to the next machining operation until final unloading.
This architecture makes it possible to combine in a single system operations that would normally require multiple machines and additional part handling. The result is continuous production with shorter cycle times and improved consistency in part quality.
Cutting and end machining
The cutting system can use HSS or TCT saw blades, selected according to the material and required performance. The units installed at the subsequent stations can perform a variety of machining operations on the ends and surfaces of the component.
Depending on the configuration, the process can include facing, chamfering, recessing, localized turning, drilling, threading, and other radial or orthogonal machining operations. Plunge heads and recessing heads allow the machine to be adapted to different component families while maintaining high levels of accuracy and productivity.
Clamping, rigidity, and process stability
The component is held by self-centering vises designed to provide stable and repeatable clamping. Volumetric monitoring of the hydraulic circuit can be used to verify correct clamping and contribute to process safety.
The high-rigidity welded steel structure is engineered using FEM analysis and undergoes stabilization and annealing treatments. With an overall weight of approximately 14 metric tons, the machine base helps absorb vibrations and dynamic loads, supporting machining accuracy, finished-part quality, and tool life.
CNC control and production management
The RSP 80-350 can be equipped with a Siemens ONE or Mitsubishi CNC. The control system coordinates the rotary table, machining units, clamping systems, and loading and unloading automation, handling both high-throughput machining and more complex cycles with controlled axis movements.
Production recipes allow the parameters associated with different part numbers to be recalled and simplify production changeovers. A Wi-Fi operator panel can be provided as an option to facilitate setup and monitoring activities close to the different areas of the line.
Loading, unloading, and automation
To ensure continuous production and reduce manual intervention, the machine can be integrated with bundle loaders, chute-type feeding systems, or other solutions developed according to the material and plant layout.
Downstream of the machining process, automatic systems can be installed for unloading, sorting, and handling finished components, including robotic palletizing solutions. The line can also be prepared for integration with factory systems and external inspection devices.
Integrated quality control
The RSP 80-350 can perform electromechanical length inspection directly during the production cycle. When an out-of-tolerance component is detected, an automatic diverter can separate it from conforming production and route it to a dedicated area.
Additional in-process inspections can be integrated according to component requirements and the required level of traceability.
A modular platform for customized production
Each RSP 80-350 is configured according to the component, production volumes, and required sequence of machining operations. Its modular architecture makes it possible to develop dedicated solutions for special profiles, non-standard geometries, and complex production cycles, while also allowing for future system expansions.
To identify the configuration best suited to your production requirements, the RALC Italia team is available to analyze your component, required production volumes, and the machining operations to be integrated into the cycle.
