Flux tanks for galvanized wire production lines
In a modern galvanized wire production line a flux solution is applied prior to the molten zinc metal. Flux is an ammonium chloride or zinc ammonium chloride solution, which is necessary to prepare the carbon steel wires to receive the hot-dip zinc application.
Typically the flux is applied with either wet rollers or in a flood weir tank, both allowing the wire to be treated without the use of dipper or deviating rolls.
Normally the flux will be heated so as to ensure that the material will dry more quickly prior to the galvanizing bath.
