Butt welders for big-size stranded conductors
A few weeks ago, AUGUST STRECKER GmbH & Co. KG in Limburg/Germany completed the fifth welder type MK 1200 FPC 3P for stranded conductors made of copper or aluminium up to a maximum cross-section of 2500 mm². Reason enough to keep this moment on a photo.
Machines of this series weld without any tubes and are being used by reputable cable producers in Germany, the US, South Korea and Bangladesh.
To cope with the high current consumption as well as the so-called "short-term peak load" when welding big-size stranded conductors, STRECKER uses a 3-phase direct current transformer that drastically reduces the current required.
Same as for all machines series "MS" and "MK", these cables are also deflashed fully automatically after welding.
So far STRECKER is the only manufacturer offering butt welding machines for cross-sections that big.
