"We support Chinese clients in export-oriented applications": Strecker’s Payelleville on wire China

Since 1933, AUGUST STRECKER GmbH & Co. KG has built a name for itself as a specialist in butt-welding equipment for the wire and cable industry, serving both the ferrous and non-ferrous sectors. The company's machines are known for their quality and reliability and are used in more than 110 countries worldwide.
At wire China 2026 in Shanghai, Strecker is back at booth E1 E45 with two of its core welding machines. We asked Sales Director Nathalie Payelleville, who will be on site for the show, what visitors can expect.
Who's joining you at the booth?
I'll be supported by Saimin Guo from Langtech, our representative for the steel sector in China. Our booth is also located directly opposite Niehoff, our partner for the non-ferrous sector — which makes it easier to connect with contacts during the event.
What will visitors find at the Strecker booth?
Strecker is presenting two butt-welders at the show: the Type SE1, designed for welding stranded conductors using tubes, and the Type 2a, the company's conventional electric butt-welding machine for ferrous and non-ferrous wire and rod. A display screen at the booth will also run videos showcasing Strecker's broader range of butt-welding solutions (> 60 machines).
What are your expectations for the show?
Our expectations are realistic and focused. Beyond trade fairs, we maintain close and long-standing relationships with our customers and partners worldwide, including many valued customers in China. We've been actively present in the Chinese market since the early 1970s and have closely followed its impressive industrial development.
How does Strecker see its role in China today, given how much of the local market is served by domestic manufacturers?
We recognize that the local market is largely served by domestic manufacturers. Even so, we remain committed to offering specialized welding solutions, reliable service, and long-term partnership — particularly for Chinese customers active in export-oriented applications, where our experience and technology provide significant added value.
Looking beyond the show, what's next for Strecker?
A key focus for August Strecker worldwide is the continued expansion of our cold welding machine portfolio, together with the development of enhanced Service Level Agreements to further strengthen customer support.
Visitors can meet Nathalie Payelleville and the Strecker team at booth E1 E45, wire China Shanghai 2026 (Sept. 21-24, 2026).
