Company Overview and History
Kelani Cables PLC, established in 1969, emerged as an import-substitute manufacturer during Sri Lanka's controlled-economy era. The company pioneered the wire drawing industry in Sri Lanka by transitioning from importing drawn wire components to manufacturing them in-house. In 1973, it was incorporated as a quoted public limited liability company, initially focusing on power cables, telecommunications cables, and enamelled winding wires. After being a subsidiary of the Pacific Dunlop Cables group of Australia until 1996, Kelani Cables PLC became a fully Sri Lankan-owned entity. Since 1999, the ACL Cables group of Companies has held the majority shares. The company operates from Wewelduwa Road, Kelaniya, and upholds core values of Respect, Integrity, Quality, Family, and Learning.

Kelani Cables PLC offers a comprehensive range of electrical and communication cabling solutions for both local and international markets. Their product portfolio includes various types of power cables, telecommunications cables, and enamelled winding wires, such as single-core insulated non-sheathed cables (both standard and flexible conductor), single-core insulated and sheathed cables, multicore insulated and sheathed flat cables, multi-core insulated and sheathed flexible conductor cables, welding cables, auto cables, armoured cables, and solar cables. They also provide accessories like insulation tape, masking tape, coaxial cables, and bayonet lamp holders.
