Pakistan Cables, established in 1953 by Mr. Amir S. Chinoy, holds the position of the premier cable manufacturer and market leader in Pakistan. The company has a notable history of foreign affiliations, operating under British Insulated Callender's Cables (BICC) from 1953 to 1993, and later having General Cable as a minority shareholder from 2010 to 2017. Located in Karachi, Pakistan Cables has consistently prioritized excellence and maintained high-quality standards across its operations.
Advanced Manufacturing Capabilities
The company demonstrates significant manufacturing prowess, notably in its production of 8mm High Conductivity Oxygen Free Copper Rod since 1996. Utilizing LME registered 'A' grade copper cathodes, Pakistan Cables is the only Pakistani manufacturer equipped with a state-of-the-art Up-cast plant for this product. This rod boasts 99.99 percent purity, minimal oxygen content, and achieves 101% IACS conductivity, characterized by high ductility, electrical and thermal conductivity, and good creep resistance, making it ideal for wire manufacturing.
Diversified Product Portfolio
Beyond its core cable business, Pakistan Cables offers a diverse range of products through specialized divisions. ALUMEX® is the brand for its aluminum sections and profiles, extruded from prime quality imported AA 6063 billets. These sections, suitable for architectural, construction, and industrial applications, are anodized on a fully automated plant. Since 2007, the company has also been producing flexible PVC compounds at its exclusive plant, used for cable insulation, sheathing, and external sale. This facility features sophisticated machinery, automated weighing and dosing systems, and a polymers laboratory for developing customer-specific formulations. Additionally, Pakistan Cables provides a range of wiring accessories, designed for durability, ease of use, and simple installation.
