FULCRUM™ Technology and Product Advantages
A significant innovation is FULCRUM™ technology, a unique thermoplastic pultrusion process. This technology combines high mechanical properties with excellent toughness and damage tolerance, suitable for demanding structural applications. FULCRUM™ Thermoplastic Composites are produced using a patented process with an engineering thermoplastic polyurethane (ETPU) matrix. This process offers environmental advantages, including elimination of VOC emissions and recyclability. FULCRUM™ composites typically exhibit superior strength, stiffness, toughness, and damage tolerance compared to most thermoset materials, allowing for higher production speeds and greater design freedom. Profiles can be post-formed, over-extruded, and co-extruded, enabling independent surface property decisions and insertion of various elements within the structure.
Key Product Characteristics
Fulcrum Composites' products are characterized by high strength and stiffness, excellent corrosion resistance, and low thermal conductivity. They are also easy to cut and fabricate. The resins used provide outstanding resistance to a broad spectrum of chemicals, including acids, bases, and organic liquids. Fulcrum tubes and rods can be supplied with various thermoplastic overcoatings to enhance surface properties, such as improved chemical resistance.
