Company Overview and Location
Jackburn is a manufacturing firm established in 1977, operating from an 80,000 square foot facility across three buildings in northwestern Pennsylvania, near Lake Erie. Strategically located just west of Erie and within approximately 100 miles of Buffalo, Cleveland, and Pittsburgh, the company benefits from proximity to major interstate highways and Erie International Airport. This central location enables Jackburn to efficiently serve eastern, Midwest, and southern market areas with its diverse customer base.
Stamping and Tool & Die Capabilities
The company's stamping facility is equipped with substantial machinery, including 250-ton, 100-ton, and 95-ton straight-side presses, alongside various OBI punch presses with capacities up to 70 tons. Complementing this, a fully equipped in-house tool and die area designs and builds blanking and forming dies, ensuring precise and tailored solutions for its stamping operations. This integrated approach allows for comprehensive control over the production process from concept to final product.
Advanced Wire Forming and Fabrication
Jackburn specializes in wire forming and fabrication, featuring 12 automatic fourslide wire forming machines capable of processing wire from 0.080″ to 0.250″ in diameter. A highlight of their operations is a state-of-the-art ring coiling and welding machine that forms and buttwelds rings ranging from 4″ to 20″ in diameter in a single operation. The centerpiece is a CNC 4-axis wire bending and forming system, enabling precision production of complex two and three-dimensional wire forms suitable for both long and short production runs. The fabrication area also houses 26 resistance welding machines (30 to 250 KVA), including spot, butt, and press types, with one featuring a 6-station turntable, producing items like fabricated grates for domestic ranges, recreational vehicles, and outdoor barbecue grills.
Engineering and Prototyping Services
Jackburn offers complete engineering and design assistance, guiding projects from initial concept through prototyping. All wire form tooling is designed and built in-house, ensuring quality and efficiency. The advanced CNC wire bending and forming system plays a crucial role in expediting the production of prototypes and pre-production samples, requiring minimal tooling and short setup times. This capability supports a wide range of products, from simple 'S' hooks and container handles to intricate components for greenhouse plant hanging systems.
