Company Overview
Hivotec AG, based in Laufen, Switzerland, has dedicated over two decades to delivering optimal solutions for the cable industry and installers of Medium Voltage (MV) and High Voltage (HV) cables. The company's journey saw a significant transition in 2016 when founder Albert Jenni retired, selling the business to long-time employee Philippe Emch, who subsequently assumed the role of CEO. This leadership change, coupled with a relocation to new premises in Laufen, near Basel, solidified Hivotec's commitment to providing high-quality, reliable tools. The company prides itself on its multilingual team, offering support in English, German, French, Italian, and Spanish.
Product Portfolio
Hivotec specializes in a comprehensive range of manual peeling and stripping tools designed for precise cable preparation. Their product line includes the CP90, CP130, and CP185 models, which collectively cover a diameter range from 40mm to 185mm. These tools are engineered to perform essential operations such as peeling the outer bonded semi-conductive layer, stripping the main insulation, chamfering the main insulation, and cutting slots. For enhanced efficiency, the CP90 and CP130 tools can be optionally driven by the Unipower 34R gear transmission unit, which connects to a standard manual drilling machine via a 10mm drive shaft. Hivotec also offers specialized tooling for unique applications upon customer request.
Support and Customer Engagement
Beyond its core product offerings, Hivotec AG provides robust support services to ensure tool longevity and performance. These include comprehensive service and repair for their tools, with a minimum batch requirement of ten units, and a resharpening service for Flat Knives Type FK. For urgent needs, evaluations, or tests, a limited number of rental tools are available. Hivotec actively engages its customer base through the exclusive 'Hivo Club,' an internal platform fostering information exchange, communication of industry trends, and promotions. This club allows active customers to contribute to content, reinforcing a collaborative approach to technological advancement and customer satisfaction.
