Discover what Niehoff is bringing to wire Southeast Asia

Braiding solutions for precise shielding and optimized material usage
Maschinenfabrik Niehoff and its subsidiary Niehoff Singapore Pte. Ltd. will present the vertical lever-arm rotary braiding machine BMV 16 at wire Southeast Asia 2025 (Sep. 17-19, 2025, Bangkok). The machine will be exhibited at the German Pavilion (booth EH102-H29), highlighting a series of technical advancements designed for higher productivity and cost efficiency in cable shielding applications.
The BMV 16 features 16 bobbin carriers and is capable of automatically increasing bobbin speed from 175 rpm to 200 rpm. This results in a 10% increase in braiding performance. With Niehoff’s proprietary Wire Tension Control system, the machine ensures uniform tension from full to empty bobbin, enabling flawless shielding quality—essential for today’s demanding applications.
Another key feature is the Coverage Control System, which maintains a constant coverage ratio throughout the process. This precision enables savings of up to 10% in braiding material. Coverage data can be documented and shared with customers as proof of compliance with quality standards.
The BMV 16 supports extended unattended operation thanks to integrated monitoring systems. It is also compatible with the digital platform myNIEHOFF, allowing real-time monitoring and documentation of key machine and process data.
Designed to process bare or plated round and flat wires made of copper, aluminum, iron, stainless steel, as well as synthetic yarns and fibers, the BMV 16 is ideal for manufacturing cable shieldings, copper and steel wire braids, hollow and stranded braids, and textile-based solutions.
