Leading machinery producer Niehoff adopts POWER+ as corporate philosophy
In the latest issue of the Niehoff Magazine, readers can get a precise idea of the company's POWER+ philosophy. POWER+, standing for Process Optimization Waste Elimination and Reduction, reunites the principles adopted by Niehoff to create and optimize the value chain of the company by means of Lean methods, always focusing on customers' requirements.
Another topic of the Niehoff Magazine 1/2020 are Niehoff's exhibits at the wire China fair, that has just taken place.
Niehoff's presence in China dates back to the early 1970s, as the company introduced rod breakdown, multiwire drawing and fine wire drawing technology in many Chinese wire and cable factories. Niehoff's subsidiary Niehoff Machinery Changzhou (NMC) has been building machines and systems under Niehoff license for the local market since 2012. Due to the growing demand, NMC is currently building a new factory with extended manufacturing possibilities shown in the new Niehoff Magazine as well.
China experienced a sharp economic downturn in the first quarter of 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but there are signs of recovery as shown in an article describing the market situation. Two of the numerous Chinese companies, with whom Niehoff and NMC foster long-standing relationships, are the Shanghai Changshun Elevator Cable Co. Ltd. and Zhejiang Grandwall Electronic Science & Technology Co. Ltd. Mr. Sun Zhongqi, president of the Shanghai Changshun Elevator Cable Co. Ltd., explains in an interview the key success factors of his company and its future plans, while Zhejiang Grandwall Electronic Science & Technology Co. Ltd., one of the three largest electromagnetic wire manufacturers in China, is introduced in a company portrait.
Another theme covered by the magazine is the modernization of a multiwire drawing machine MMH 101 with 65,000 hours of operation. Niehoff has always been designing its machines following the idea that after a long operating time an overhaul by Niehoff engineers is worthwhile.
