Multiwire drawing line MMH 121 + RM 201.S
This multiwire drawing machine MMH 121 is designed to draw simultaneously e.g. 16 wires with a final diameter of up to 0.20 mm (32 AWG). The wires drawn on this machine are characterized by very homogeneous properties with very fine tolerances along the entire wire length and can be processed to intermediate multiwire bundles; as the bundles are spooled onto the spools under controlled wire tension, the wires drawn on MMH type machines are suited for the highest quality strands. By using the machine spools handling is simplified, and the lower number of payoff stations results in huge savings in capital investments.
The machine is combined with an RM 161.S type continuous resistance annealer. One of its characteristics is that depending on the wire diameter it works by the two or three zone annealing principle, which promotes the economical and ecological consumption of annealing current. As a standard the annealer is equipped with a separately driven auxiliary pulley.
Modular construction system
The MMH machines are built according to a modular construction system. In this way it’s possible to build customer-specific machines which are optimally adapted to each application. The largest MMH line is capable of drawing up to 42 wires, the smallest wire final diameter which can be realized by an MMH machine is up to 0.05 mm.
Experience in multiwire drawing technology
Up to now NIEHOFF has installed more than 1,000 MMH lines world-wide and can claim with reason to have extensive experience in the design, operation and application of multiwire drawing lines. For each task and each kind of non-ferrous metal including composite metals NIEHOFF can develop the optimum drawing and processing solution.
Lever arm rotary braiding machine BMV 124
The 24-carrier lever arm rotary braiding machine BMV 124 has a central passage of 55 mm and can carry spools with a weight of up to 5.5 kg. Like the other models of the BMV series designed for 12, 16 or 24 spools, the machine can process bare or plated round or flat copper wire, aluminum wire and stainless steel wire with a single-wire diameter of 0.05 to 0.3 mm (40 – 28 AWG) as well as artificial yarn and fibers. The applications include the manufacture of data, control and coaxial cables, hollow braids for battery cables, stranded braids, as well as mechanical reinforcements for pressure hoses.
The BMV machines feature an infinitely variable electronic control of line speed and braiding pitch as well as an automatic central lubrication system and can be combined with different kinds of external taping devices.
Quality control and operational safety
A quality assurance system controls all steps from the cable inlet via single and bundle-wire control to the take-up of the braided cable. Upon customer request an automatic low bobbin detection device is integrated which stops the machine before a braiding bobbin is completely empty minimizing the scrap and residual wire on the braiding bobbin. Operational safety is increased using a slide track temperature monitoring and control by means of which track lubrication frequency and quantity can be varied by the operator to avoid overheating. The control stops the braider when a limit temperature is exceeded, and allows BMV braiders to work unattended for a long time.
The complete NIEHOFF After Sales Original + service
Every user of NIEHOFF technology benefits from assistance provided by NIEHOFF After Sales Original +. The service comprehends expert know-how, remote maintenance, modernization and upgrading measures, machine operator and maintenance training courses.
The NIEHOFF After Sales Original + service ensures also the fast and reliable supply of wear and spare parts.
NIEHOFF components
Machine components specially developed by NIEHOFF help wire and cable makers reduce considerably energy and operating costs and can be obtained at an affordable price. Outstanding examples are the “just plug and play” ECO-Bow for NIEHOFF’s D type single bow design double twist bunching machines and the new generation of contact tubes for continuous annealers. As only Niehoff knows best how the performance of its machines can be increased to a maximum, these components
are ideally suited to upgrade them.
