Niehoff co-organizes online event about non-ferrous wire in October
The NF WIRE FORUM online event is going to take place on October 20 from 12:30 to 14:00 CET. It was organized by Maschinenfabrik Niehoff together with the other four partners of the NF WIRE FORUM (NON-FERROUS WIRE FORUM): AURUBIS, BALLOFFET, BECHEM, and the association DEUTSCHES KUPFERINSTITUT.
The online event will feature short presentations given in English focusing on „cup and cone” wire breaks and the influencing factors.
The five consortium partners launched the new NF WIRE FORUM last November in Germany, backed up by the experience of Bechem, which initiated a metal forming forum over 20 years ago.
In 2020, they planned to conduct the NF WIRE FORUM in English for their customers in the EMEA region at a nice spot in Europe for the first time.
The coronavirus pandemic has interfered with these plans, so the consortium partners decided to start with this online event scheduled for October 20 in order to interact with their customers and to provide a first glimpse at a topic that will be presented in detail at a physical meeting scheduled to take place in 2021: wire drawing and the interacting disciplines of copper wire rod, machinery, dies, and lubrication to successfully produce the thinnest wire diameters at high process levels.
