Niehoff to present new automation and multiwire technologies at wire 2026

At the upcoming wire 2026, Maschinenfabrik Niehoff will showcase a range of technological innovations designed to improve productivity, automation, and process control in wire and cable manufacturing. The company will exhibit at booth 10 D 22 from 13 to 17 April in Düsseldorf.
Visitors will be able to explore several new developments, including a new generation of MMH multiwire lines, the fully automated NPS double spooler type SV 403 D, as well as BMV vertical braiding machines and the SMB 4 spooling machine equipped with robotic handling.
Automation and digital integration for higher productivity
The NPS double spooler SV 403 D is part of the NIEHOFF Package System and is designed for fully automated operation. It performs automatic spool changeover, cable end wrapping and labeling with barcode, QR code and RFID. The system can reach production speeds of up to 2,400 m/min, increasing output by around 30% compared with the previous generation.
The company will also demonstrate its BMV 16 vertical braiding machine equipped with a new automated bobbin supply system. The solution combines an SMB bobbin winder, an automated guided vehicle (AGV), and a robotic handling system that loads and unloads braiding bobbins automatically. This integrated setup reduces manual handling while improving productivity and process stability.
Another highlight is the BMV 24 braiding machine (in the picture) equipped with Niehoff’s Wire Tension Control (WTC) system, which maintains constant wire tension throughout the entire bobbin cycle. The system improves product quality, reduces the risk of wire breaks and provides process transparency through the recording of braking forces.
Service solutions and digital platforms
In addition to machinery, Niehoff will present its extended LifeCycle+ service portfolio, which covers the entire lifecycle of equipment with services ranging from commissioning and operation support to modernization.
Visitors will also be introduced to the digital myNIEHOFF web portal and the new webshop, which provides customers with 24/7 access to spare parts information, availability and pricing.
Another member of the Niehoff Group, HFSAB, will showcase a die block for a horizontal lead extruder equipped with a semi-automatic centering device, designed for the production of high-performance cable sheathing.
