OMSG (Officine Meccaniche San Giorgio SpA) was established in 1961 and has evolved into a world leader in the design and manufacture of shot blast, shot-peening machines and machine systems. The group consists of four companies operating across four plants, including the headquarters in Villa Cortese (20,000 m²) and facilities in Dairago (both near Milan), as well as international branches OMSG France in Oullins Cedex and OMSG Deutschland GmbH in Metzingen.
In 2017, OMSG acquired the historic Italian company CARLO BANFI (established 1938), consolidating its position in the global surface treatment industry. The combined group has installed over 9,500 machines worldwide (5,500+ OMSG and 4,000+ CARLO BANFI) across 95 countries. The company manufactures approximately 100-110 blast machines annually, with 75% destined for export markets, primarily Europe, North Africa, Middle East, and the Americas.
The company offers over 120 standard machine types including Tumblast machines with rubber or steel conveyors, roller conveyor shot blasting machines, spinner hanger machines, tunnelblast machines, and specialized solutions. More than half of their production comprises custom machines tailored to specific customer requirements. Their products serve diverse industries including foundries, steel structural works, aluminum die-casting, forging, wire drawing, and various technological treatments.
OMSG maintains a strong focus on quality and safety, holding ISO 9001 certification for quality management, ISO 45001 for occupational health and safety, and most recently, ISO 14001/2015 for environmental management. The company employs approximately 75 people across its locations and operates through a network of over 50 qualified agents and distributors worldwide, providing comprehensive after-sales service and spare parts support.
