Company Overview and Heritage
Amstek Metal, established in July 1987, operates as a multi-location service center primarily serving the East Coast of the United States. The company is owned and operated by Charles G. Stevens Co., a firm with a rich history dating back to 1898. This long-standing heritage means Amstek Metal benefits from over a century of experience in specialty steel sales and distribution, with four generations of the Stevens family actively involved. Initially formed in collaboration with Swedish wire producer Gunnebo, Amstek Metal expanded its reach and supply chain, later involving Sandvik Steel for the distribution of Swedish spring wire into the U.S. market, solidifying its global connections.

Amstek Metal functions as both a mill supplier and a stocking warehouse, specializing in the distribution of precision slit coil and various types of wire from global sources. Their extensive product range includes Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, and a comprehensive selection of Spring Wire, such as Music Wire, Hard Drawn, Oil Tempered, Valve Quality, and Chrome Vanadium, meeting specifications like ASTM A877, ASTM A321, and ASTM A232.
