Company Overview and History
Huangshi Alta Special Steel Co.,Ltd, also known as Alta Special Steel, is a comprehensive manufacturer based in Huangshi, China. The company has been deeply involved in the tool steel industry since the 1990s, evolving from a small operation with a forging hammer into a substantial enterprise. Today, Alta Special Steel operates across two production sites spanning 73,000 square meters, managing the entire process from steel melting to the production of finished steel products.
Advanced Manufacturing and Quality Assurance
Alta Special Steel emphasizes stringent quality control, commencing with the selection of high-quality raw materials, including ferro alloys and scrap steels. The company employs advanced metallurgical techniques such as ladle refining and vacuum degassing to ensure high-cleanliness materials. For ultra-high cleanliness steels, secondary re-melting processes like ESR (Electro Slag Remelting) and VAR (Vacuum Arc Remelting) are utilized. The production process is overseen by experienced and dedicated workers who meticulously manage every stage, from raw material inspection and furnace operations to composition testing of molten steel, ingot pouring, and critical temperature control. This commitment ensures the delivery of fine-quality steel materials.
Product Portfolio and Specialized Steels
Alta Special Steel offers a diverse range of steel products, including round bars, flat bars, and forged die-blocks. Its core offerings encompass various specialized steels such as Martensitic Stainless Steel, New-type Cold Work Tool Steel, and New-type Hot Work Tool Steel. Specific grades include ALTA 1.2990 Mod. / DC53, which offers double the toughness of SKD11 for cold work applications, and ALTA 7CrSiMnMoV/CH1, known for its flame hardening properties and significantly extended service life in applications like cold drawing punches. For hot work, grades like ALTA GW650(TM) demonstrate a thermal ability 2-3 times higher than H13, and ALTA HM1 offers superior thermal fatigue resistance compared to H21/1.2581. The company also supplies Martensitic Stainless Steel grades like ALTA 1.4021, 1.4028, and 1.4057, available in various quenched and tempered conditions (e.g., QT650 to QT900).
