ABS strengthens the scrap supply chain with the acquisition of R. Casini

Recently, Acciaierie Bertoli Safau SpA has finalized, through Rott-Ferr, the acquisition of 100% of R. Casini Srl, a long-established company in Friuli-Venezia Giulia (Italy) active in the collection, processing, and trading of ferrous and metallic materials.
The transaction represents a further step in the path initiated in 2023 with the entry of Rott-Ferr and strengthens the vertical integration strategy of the scrap supply chain, which is becoming increasingly central to the steel industry, with a continued focus on ensuring production continuity and greater stability for customers.
The integration of Rott-Ferr and R. Casini creates the largest regional hub for scrap collection and recovery, with a total capacity of approximately 200,000 tons per year supporting the production of specialty steels.
The initiative strengthens an integrated industrial platform within the region, with the goal of ensuring continuity, quality, and sustainability in raw material sourcing while enhancing the skills and know-how developed over time.
Operational management, in synergy with Rott-Ferr, will ensure organizational stability and further enhance the know-how developed by the company throughout its history.
