Fondinox S.p.A., established in 1966, is a privately-owned foundry specializing in the production of high-quality stainless steel and nickel alloy castings. Located in Sergnano, Italy, the company has maintained consistent ownership and management since its inception.
Initially focused on forging ingots, Fondinox transformed its business model in 1972 by installing medium frequency induction furnaces and specializing in foundry activities, particularly cast nickel base alloys. The company became a pioneer in supplying cast valves for offshore and oil & gas markets in the 1980s, expanding its expertise to include duplex, superduplex, and superaustenitic alloys through exclusive licensing agreements with Swedish companies Avesta Jernverk AB and Sandvik Steels AB.
The company's manufacturing capabilities include both static and centrifugal castings. Static castings range from 5 to 8000 kgs, while centrifugal castings include pipes and rings from 50 to 5000 kgs, with diameters from 90mm to 1400mm and lengths up to 5000mm. Their state-of-the-art facility features 10 medium frequency induction furnaces with capacities ranging from 300 to 3500 kgs, operating under controlled atmosphere with argon purging.
Fondinox maintains high quality standards with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications, along with various industry approvals including NORSOK M650. The company's commitment to environmental responsibility is demonstrated through its A.I.A. (I.P.P.C.) compliance and the appointment of an Energy Manager for optimizing energy efficiency.
Recent investments include a 2019-approved €6 million expansion plan for 15000sqm of industrial area and the 2020 installation of a new Dual Track melting plant. The company serves diverse sectors including oil & gas, chemical and petrochemical industry, energy production, waste treatment, and marine applications.
