IGM-Trade, established in 1994 as a trading company, has evolved into a prominent producer of steel welded pipes and profiles, recognized as one of the largest in South-Eastern Europe. Headquartered in Kavadarci, North Macedonia, the company operates extensive premises spanning 400,000 m2, with 280,000 m2 under cover, and employs over 450 individuals. Demonstrating a commitment to strategic growth, IGM-Trade expanded its operations beyond North Macedonia in late 2015 by acquiring the former ALPOS factory in Šentjur, Slovenia. This acquisition initiated production in 2017, significantly boosting the company's presence and service capabilities in EU markets. The company's investment strategy also includes operating a production facility for steel structures and a construction company, which are primarily utilized for IGM's internal projects.
Products and Manufacturing Capabilities
IGM-Trade's core business revolves around the production of steel welded pipes and profiles, with a combined annual capacity of 300,000 tonnes across its facilities. The product range includes square hollow sections from 13x13 up to 260x260 mm, rectangular hollow sections from 30x10 up to 300x200 mm, and round tubes ranging from ɸ 16 to ɸ 323.9 (3/8'- 12'). These products are available with thicknesses up to 10.0 mm for hollow sections and up to 8.0 mm for round tubes. The company also manufactures special cross-section profiles, such as ZP profiles, utilizing steel grades like S235JR, S275JR, and S355JR. Additionally, IGM-Trade engages in the secondary activity of processing steel coils into sheets and strips, with future plans to enhance its in-house service center capabilities.
Market Leadership and Quality Assurance
As an export-oriented company, IGM-Trade sells approximately 95% of its total output outside North Macedonia, primarily to EU and CEFTA markets. This strong market presence is supported by continuous investment in new technology, aiming to sustain its leadership position.
