ABS Steel Nordic: new service center inaugurated in Sweden, close to Northern European SMEs
Acciaierie Bertoli Safau (ABS), part of the Danieli Group and specializing in the production of special steels for high-value-added industrial applications, is forging stronger ties with Northern European businesses.
On September 16, the company inaugurated the ABS Steel Nordic Service Center in Värnamo, Sweden, bringing together stock availability, cutting services, logistics, and metallurgical consulting under one roof. The opening of the new service center marks the completion of the project announced in November 2025 and strengthens its commercial presence in Northern Europe.
Special steels and integrated services for SMEs
In addition to its established relationships with major industrial customers, ABS can now reach small and medium-sized enterprises, including machine shops and steel processing companies, which will be able to purchase even smaller lots directly from the steel producer.
The new service center therefore represents another step in expanding ABS's downstream business: moving beyond the supply of special steels alone to offer an ecosystem of services, technical expertise, and metallurgical consulting that strengthens direct relationships with the market and builds loyalty to a brand recognized for the quality of its steel.
An opening ceremony highlighting industry, the economy, and automotive
The inauguration of the new service center was attended by Michele Pala, Italy's Ambassador to Sweden. The event also featured two presentations offering international perspectives on the economic and industrial outlook for the Nordic market.
Torbjörn Isaksson, Chief Analyst at Nordea Bank, presented attendees with an analysis of markets and the economic landscape in Northern Europe, while Peter Bryntesson, CEO of FKG, the Swedish association of automotive component manufacturers, outlined the challenges and developments in Sweden's automotive industry, one of the key markets for ABS's special steel products.
With its new center in Värnamo, ABS reinforces its strategy of staying close to customers, complementing the quality of its steel production with a service network designed to meet the needs of Northern Europe's manufacturing companies.
