Stainless steel tubes bending and forming

Stainless steel tubes bending and forming

Stainless steel tube bending is a critical process for the production of functional components used in hydraulic and heat exchange systems. Through its synergy with CSM MACHINERY, the Group’s specialist in tube processing machinery, CSM TUBE ensures forming processes that preserve material integrity, with uniform bending radii and precise dimensions.

Bending types and geometries

In-house technological expertise allows the company to offer a complete range of geometric configurations designed to optimize flow dynamics and thermal performance:

  • Fixed-radius bending: an ideal solution for standardized components requiring maximum repeatability and precision in mechanical assemblies.
  • Heating and cooling coils: production of complex helical geometries designed to maximize heat transfer surface within boilers, storage tanks, and industrial heat exchangers.
  • Planar serpentine geometries: two-dimensional tubular circuits developed for use in radiant panels or industrial applications where space constraints must be minimized.

Customization based on technical drawings

In addition to standard geometries, CSM TUBE supports the development of customized geometries based on customer technical drawings. The production process allows the mechanical properties of stainless steel tubes to be tailored (through specific heat treatments such as bright annealing) prior to bending and forming, preventing micro-cracking and excessive thinning of the outer wall in the bending area.

Quality and ovality control

All bent components undergo rigorous inspections to ensure that tube ovality remains within specified tolerances. Weld seam stability during plastic deformation is verified through expansion and reverse flattening tests. Digitalized production data management ensures that every bending radius strictly complies with design specifications, guaranteeing maximum reliability during final assembly.

Customers can submit their technical drawings to CSM TUBE’s engineering department for feasibility assessment of the required geometry.
