Company Profile and Quality
Schmidt Maschinenbau GmbH, located in Industriegebiet Windhagen-Ost, Germany, has established itself as a long-standing and reliable partner within the wire industry. The company is a proven supplier of advanced wire drawing machines and winding systems, recognized for its commitment to quality and durability. This dedication is underscored by its ISO 9001:2015 certification, ensuring a robust quality management system across all operations and products.
Advanced Wire Drawing Technology
Schmidt Maschinenbau offers a diverse range of wire drawing solutions, catering to various production needs. Their product line includes conventional cone drawing machines, modular wire drawing machines (Type 20-2) with individual wire extension capabilities (6%, 11%, 13%, 17%), and the WDM series of single-disk drawing machines, which feature individually driven modules and electronic flexibility. A notable development is the ES series, designed for minimized slip and electronically selectable wire extensions through individually driven drawing pulleys, offering an economically and technologically interesting solution with a reduced mechanical structure.
The ES355 slipless drawing machine exemplifies their innovation, operating without dancers for minimal draw-in length and quick setup. It processes wires from 0.5 mm to 5.0 mm at speeds up to 6 m/s, accommodating various materials such as copper, silver-plated copper, silver-plated copper-clad aluminum (CCA), and silver-plated copper-clad stainless steel (CCSS). Its robust stainless steel design supports diverse drawing agents, while carbide-coated 355 mm capstans and high-pressure die inlet sprays ensure high surface quality. The modular design allows integration with various pay-off and spooler systems, handling coils up to 560 mm in diameter.
Specialized Systems and Spoolers
For highly specialized applications, Schmidt offers the ultrafine drawing machine E10, capable of drawing wire in the 10µm to 50µm range and integrating an inline rolling mill for flat strip formation. This system can perform wire drawing only, drawing with inline rolling, or wire pay-off for flat wire rolling. It features an ultra-fine spooler from the SM36 series with a traversing design, offering controlled spooling tension from 3 to 30 cN without dancers to minimize deflection wheels. Additionally, the company provides re-spooling devices like the SM02, a flexible tabletop unit for ultrafine wire re-spooling.
