SINTERMAT is a pioneering startup founded in 2016 by Foad Naimi, specializing in the industrialization of Spark Plasma Sintering (SPS) technology, also known as FAST sintering or flash sintering. Based in Montbard, France, within the Metal'Valley industrial cluster, the company has developed unique expertise in creating innovative materials through powder metallurgy.
The company's core technology involves agglomerating powders under simultaneous electrical pulse and uniaxial loading, producing high-strength and high-density parts. This process achieves densification 10-100 times faster than conventional sintering techniques, enabling the creation of materials with exceptional properties including enhanced mechanical strength, extended service life, and lighter weight.
SINTERMAT's capabilities extend across multiple material types including metals, ceramics, composites, and bio-based materials. The company serves diverse sectors including aeronautics, defense, luxury goods, industrial tooling, and energy. Their machine park includes a hybrid SPS machine capable of producing pieces from 5mm to 350mm in diameter, along with six hot pressing machines for natural materials.
With environmental responsibility at its core, SINTERMAT contributes to a circular economy by recycling industrial waste and upcycling natural materials. The company's eco-friendly process reduces raw material usage through Near Net Shape or Net Shape production, minimizing waste and energy consumption.
The company holds multiple patents and is ISO 9001 certified, demonstrating its commitment to quality and innovation. With 17 employees, SINTERMAT has already produced over 100 prototypes and maintains a strong focus on R&D, supported by both public institutions (Armed Forces Ministry, Bpifrance) and private organizations.
