After the show: wire South America and Tubotech 2015
The second edition of wire South America - International Wire and Cable Fair – came to a conclusion on October 8. The trade show was staged at the Exposições Imigrantes exhibition centre in São Paulo (Brazil) in parallel with TUBOTECH – the International Trade Fair for Pipes, Valves, Fittings and Components.

Brazil’s boom in the construction, automotive and consumer electronics industries has led in previous years to a marked increase in the demand for wire, cable and tube products. Now, as Brazil seems to slide into its deepest recession in a quarter century, the expectations for this trade show were conflicting.
We collected some comments of the exhibiting companies to capture the perceptions regarding the exhibition and the situation of the market in the area:
“The wire South America show was very successful with customers and prospects not only coming from Brazil but also from most South American countries. Condat highlighted on this show its wide range of wire drawing soaps with low dust and its offer of liquid lubricants for copper and aluminum drawing, as well as specific technical solutions for tube formation. This presentation met a great success because visitors were looking for innovative solutions with local supply, in a cost saving perspective.”

"Brazil is living a difficult economic situation and a more serious political time. None of the exhibitors was surprised by the poor attendance at the fair. While the small Brazilian companies are struggling to keep the sales volumes with a scarce market demand, big groups are looking for ways to reduce costs and be more effective. This request is creating new opportunities, even in hard times like these. DEM SpA, as an innovative company, is going to have an important role in advising on alternative technologies to put again Brazil on the growing economic path."

“We would like to thank all the visitors who came to discuss their projects at our booth during the fair in São Paulo, Brazil.
We invite everybody to come and meet us at wire Düsseldorf in April 2016.”
FIB Belgium
“The attendance in this exhibition was quite slow and moreover we were expecting more customers from surrounding countries like Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Peru and Ecuador. Very few of these customers showed up.”
QUEINS Machines GmbH
“The recent wire South America 2015 exhibition in São Paulo was excellently organised by Messe Dusseldorf GmbH with the quality of service and stand equipment available very high. The IWMA understands that Brazil’s economy is currently experiencing difficulties, but was none the less delighted to see so many of its member companies exhibiting at the show. The IWMA welcomed a mixture of existing and potential members to its booth and created some good new contacts."
IWMA (International Wire Machinery Association)
"Back from Brazil, we would like to praise the organization of the last wire South America fair, which we found to be second only to wire Düsseldorf, and the influx of visitors. For our company the participation in the exhibition was important to reaffirm an important collaboration with one of the largest steel mills in the world. Being involved in trade fairs remains very important for SAS and that's why we will be present at the next Metal-Expo to be held in Moscow in November. At the same time we are already looking towards the next edition of wire in Germany: we will present to our customers the results of our research and development over the last two years, announcing big news."
SAS Engineering and Planning
“Few visitors and few competitors, probably because of another big event held in São Paulo a month before. Nevertheless, the organization was good. The main reason of this little interest in the exhibition is probably the situation of the Brazilian economy.”
