Let's take stock: Expometals.net in 2015
"Dear visitors,
2015 is coming to an end and, like every year, I'm writing to take stock of the situation with you.
The global scene is yet really unstable, also for the industries we're dealing with, and it will probably remain the same in the coming years. On our side, this year we strove to work on more fronts, to enhance the services offered to the companies present on the portal, belonging to this sector (I recall: wire, rope, cable, springs, fasteners, tube, flat and long products, and related, like machines, tools, lubricants a.s.o.). Services that are now more relevant than ever, in a competitive and globalized context, with an increasingly higher focus on communication and new technologies.
Thanks to all the search engines optimization work we did in 2014, and that is continuing, this year we obtained concrete results: our registered users grew from around 12,000 to 14,800; the companies from 4,300 to 5,444. If last year we had a spike of about 20,000 visitors in a single month, this year in May we reached and passed 24,000. Positive numbers, that allowed us to celebrate our fifteenth year of activity with a renewed endeavor, pushing us to give even more.
I will proceed, as I'm used to do, by chapters, listing as shortly as possible the biggest enhancement made and those scheduled in short time:
STRUCTURE, GRAPHICS AND FUNCTIONALITIES
- This year we optimized the speed and the layout of the portal to make the visit more dynamic and fluid.
- For what concerns the layout, I just point out that the News section on the homepage has been divided into three columns, making space for more contents. Starting from next year, the central one will be dedicated to general interest articles, with fresh specialized news written by experts and journalists. We will start with the first column in January.
- Inside Expometals' footer (the grey stripe at the bottom of the page) you can now see all the portals' data in real time, with annual visits taken from Google Analytics. A sign of transparency, allowing to know in every moment the audience of Expometals.
- We're about to release the version 4.0 of the portal, which will be launched right before wire & Tube Düsseldorf 2016. No spoilers: in 2016 you will find out all the news!
MARKETING AND SYNERGIES
The portal's staff was present this year in numerous fairs and events throughout the world. I mention just a few: Made in Steel 2015, Fastener Fair Stuttgart, Interwire in Atlanta. Mostly in the second half of the year, Expometals sustained many initiatives promoted by important associations in the metallurgical and metalworking fields. The main cooperations of this year:
- FASTENERS MEETALY 2015, the first worldwide meeting on fasteners held in Milan and organized by UPIVEB, the union of Italian screws and bolts producers.
- The last ACIMAF (Italian association of wire machinery suppliers) meeting;
- CabWire in Düsseldorf, the seventh technical conference on wire and cable organized by the major international associations of the field;
- Expolaser, laser technology-dedicated event in Piacenza, Italy;
A significant commitment, to raise awareness of Expometals and the featured companies, and to start profitable cooperations, in view of next year's biggest appointment with wire & Tube in Düsseldorf, the leading trade fair for wire, tube and related industries. We remind you that we will be exhibiting in hall 15, booth B52.
