Company Profile and Mission
General Inspection LLC, established in 1991 in Davisburg, MI, USA, specializes in manufacturing advanced gauging, sorting, and 100% inspection systems. The company's core mission is to help manufacturers achieve zero defects in their products by employing cutting-edge laser, eddy current, and vision technologies for precise dimensional measurement and comprehensive metallurgical and visual defect detection. With over 30 years of research and development and more than 70 patents, General Inspection is dedicated to continuous innovation in quality control technology.
Products and Services
General Inspection offers a comprehensive suite of automated inspection systems designed to meet diverse industry needs. Key product lines include:
- Gi-100 (DT) Series: High-speed vision-based machines ideal for inspecting components such as cups, primers, flat parts (nuts, washers, bushings), valve seats, airbag components, and medical implants. These systems typically handle parts from 2mm to 40mm in diameter and 10mm to 150mm in length, processing up to 600 parts per minute.
- Gi-360T (SD) Series: 3D inspection machines utilizing precision laser beams and multi-laser velocity gauges for cylindrical components like bolts, screws, fasteners, and ammunition (cases, cartridges, bullets). They offer 360-degree dimensional and surface defect detection, with optional eddy current for metallurgical analysis, at rates up to 400 parts per minute.
- Gi-6V Series: Known for speed and accuracy, these systems are deployed for airbag components, ammunition cases, and battery cans. They feature eight proprietary vision cameras providing 360-degree part coverage through 16 images, with inspection rates up to 800 parts per minute for airbag components and 300 parts per minute for ammunition, adhering to MIL-STD-636/651.
- Gi-720 Series: High-speed inspection for small to medium caliber cases and cartridges, deep-drawn stamping components, and medium caliber projectiles, processing up to 600 parts per minute with eight advanced vision systems.
- Gi-HALO: A high-speed bolt and screw inspection system, also suitable for shotgun shells and rimfire ammunition, capable of inspecting up to 500 parts per minute with 360-degree vision.
- VisionLab (75, 150, 300, X): Described as a highly advanced 3D measurement system for threaded fasteners, general parts, and ammunition. It provides accurate measurements of all profile characteristics, including patented thread inspection optics, and optional surface defect detection. The VisionLab-X offers automated loading and sorting.
- ARIS (Automated Reclamation and Inspection System): Integrates multiple VisionLab systems to reclaim, sort, classify, and package mixed aerospace fasteners.
- NCTP-200/300: Internal thread detection instruments that use spring-loaded inductive probes to detect missing, shallow, or damaged threads, even in harsh manufacturing environments.
