wire & Tube India 2026 preview: what to expect in Mumbai and who to meet there

wire & Tube India 2026 preview: what to expect in Mumbai and who to meet there

From November 30 to December 2, the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai will host the 10th edition of wire India, the country's leading international exhibition for the wire and cable industry, and the 11th edition of Tube India, both powered by their Düsseldorf namesakes wire and Tube. Organized by Messe Düsseldorf India, these fairs run alongside METEC India and India Essen Welding & Cutting, bringing the whole value chain together: from wire drawing and cable manufacturing to tube production, heat treatment, testing, and welding.

What to expect after the 2024 edition

According to the organizers, the four co-located fairs closed 2024 with 21,086 visitors and 532 exhibitors from 22 countries, spread over more than 38,000 square meters. wire India alone counted over 300 exhibitors from 19 countries and four country pavilions. For 2026, it is set to grow:

  • 350+ exhibitors listed for wire India, up from about 300 in 2024
  • participants from 23 countries and six country pavilions
  • a wire India technical conference on December 1, and a Tube India conference on November 30

Country pavilions and group participations

Several countries will present their industries in Mumbai through organized national participation. The German Pavilion, supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and applied for by VDKM, brings 33 exhibitors to Mumbai across wire India, Tube India, and METEC India. Italy returns with a 300 square meter pavilion in Hall 2, organized by the Italian Trade Agency (ICE) in collaboration with ACIMAF, with 17 makers of wire and cable machinery and process technology, from pickling and induction heating to drawing, stranding, and coating. Switzerland takes part with a pavilion organized by the Swiss Competence Cluster for the wire and cable industry, and Advantage Austria lists ten Austrian companies, including Rosendahl Nextrom, among the participants.

wire India: AI, digital transformation, and sustainable growth

On Tuesday, December 1, the wire India conference will focus on how AI, innovation, and sustainable solutions will shape the future of the wire and cable industry. Assomac Machines Ltd., online exhibitors on Expometals from 2011, will participate as sponsor of the conference, which will be supported by SWMAI, the Steel Wire Manufacturers Association of India. The current program is available on the official website.

The speaker line-up mixes Indian producers such as Tata Steel, JSW Steel, Havells India, Polycab, KEI Industries, and APAR Industries with international suppliers including Bekaert Wire, Maillefer Extrusion, and Niehoff. Ralf Kappertz, CEO of Niehoff, joins the CEO conclave, while Veikko Nieminen, Sales Director Wire & Cable at Maillefer Extrusion, and Frederik Becker, Chief Growth Officer of InnoVites, take part in the afternoon session on raw materials and machinery.

Speakers and topics may still change.

Tube India: the whole tube and pipe chain

Tube India covers the tube and pipe industry from raw materials to finished products. The main exhibit groups include raw materials, tubes, and accessories; tube manufacturing machinery; heat treatment processing and machinery; sawing and industrial cutting machinery; process technology, tools, and auxiliaries; measuring, control, and testing technology; and pipeline and OCTG technology. Trading companies and stockists, compound pipes, plastic tubes, and rebuilt and reconditioned machinery complete the picture.

The visitor base is just as broad, from automotive component manufacturers and plant machinery makers to buyers, end-users, investors, and trade delegations.

The fair also has its own conference. On Monday, November 30, from 14:00 to 18:30 in the conference area of Hall 4, “Formulating a Sustainable Future for the Indian Tube and Pipe Industry” is co-organized with the International Tube Association (ITA).

The Indian wire, cable, and tube market: a snapshot

India’s wire and cable market is estimated at USD 23.13 billion in 2026 and is forecast to reach USD 35.58 billion by 2031, according to Mordor Intelligence. In a separate assessment, brokerage Motilal Oswal valued the industry at roughly ₹90,000 crore in FY25, following average annual growth of around 11% over the previous five years. India has been a net exporter of cables and wires since FY20, with exports rising from ₹8,300 crore in FY20 to ₹19,800 crore in FY25.

According to CRISIL Ratings, housing wires and power cables account for around half of industry revenue. The agency expects manufacturers’ revenue to grow 28–30% in FY27, driven by infrastructure demand and higher copper and aluminum prices, with volume growth of around 10%. Industry capacity is projected to expand by 20–22% by the end of the fiscal year. Among the largest listed manufacturers by wire and cable segment revenue are Polycab, KEI Industries, Havells, and R R Kabel.

Power infrastructure remains a major driver of demand. India aims to reach 500 GW of installed non-fossil power capacity by 2030, having already reached 256 GW in September 2025. The expansion of fiber-optic and 5G networks is also generating additional demand for telecommunications cables.

On the tube side, India is the world’s second-largest crude steel producer, with output reaching approximately 170.15 million tonnes in FY2025/26 and production capacity of around 220.41 million tonnes, according to India’s Ministry of Steel. Per capita finished steel consumption had already exceeded 100 kg in FY2024/25.

Steel pipes and tubes account for approximately 8% of the country’s steel consumption, according to BlueWeave Consulting, which identifies oil and gas as the largest end-use segment. Messe Düsseldorf highlights gas distribution networks, water supply infrastructure, and refinery and petrochemical projects as major sources of demand for pipes and tubes. India is also the world’s third-largest energy consumer and fourth-largest importer of liquefied natural gas (LNG).
